I watched this video having no clue what the title signified: TAB - Australia’s National Sport…

Turns out that in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa TAB is a widely-known term for a (once state-owned) off-course gambling business.

In the UK, the more-or-less equivalent organisation is known as The Tote. If they’d said that I’d have known what they were on about.

It’s quite a good ad, regardless. “Whadda ya mean by football?” seems like a perfectly reasonable question.
