Persepolis turns 20
It’s hard to believe that Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis is 20 years old now.
It’s found itself near the top of various Banned Books lists over the years. I’m tempted to say that’s a sign the book did something right, though truthfully it’s more of a sign of the popularity of the notion that winning political power means that you get to stick it to the other side for a while, at least until the next swing of the pendulum.
